9800GX2 issues

Is anyone having any problems with the 9800GX2?

My main issue is every now and then the screen will flicker once and then something odd will happen.. for example textures are corrupted or even just a constant flicker.

I haven't a clue what is causing it... I think the drivers need more time to mature before we get perfect operation.

I have only had 1 problem with my GX2, and that was with Kane & Lynch. I had to disable SLi due to screen tearing. Other than that everythings been fine. Have you tried the latest drivers?

Heat is okay, running at around 70oC load and 50ish idle.

I am running the lastest drivers.. I am stumped really.

I had lots of flickering with the GX2 when I first installed one. I unplugged the PCI-E cables and plugged in a different set, and after that it worked fine. Go figure :s

Mmm, something to look into. Ill have to get hold of some more power cables then.

Gah!

Just loaded up Oblivion for a good old game.. but about 5mins into gameplay one flicker occurs which is then followed by almost every texture getting corrupted/mixed up. For example my bow was made of stone.

The card was not hot.. around 60oC.

I have down-clocked RAM CPU and Northbridge.

Fitted exhuast next to the heat output of the card.

This must be a driver issue.

Something to note, sound was not skipping, the wind was still blowing.

Have you tried disabling Multi GPU mode (SLi) from within the Nvidia control panel, thats what i had to do for Kane & watsit.

Could give it a go.

But that would suck because every game over the last month has had this error.

It seems to have a pattern though, If I play BF2142/AOE3 I get the weird glitch in Oblivion. But if I don't play those games.. I can play Oblvion of hours.

Another update from the land of Tox, check out the attached image.

As you can see some of the textures are missing, seconds before this the whole screen went white.. I clicked and this appeared.

The picture doesn't show it but the screen had noise going down it. Any ideas?

Agreed tbh. That looks like dodgy memory or maybe overheating mem.
