9800 GX2 overclock probs using RivaTuner

Hi there,

Just joined, so sorry, newbie question. I have downloaded the latest RivaTuner hoping to overclock my 9800 GX2, but I cannot see where to overclock it.

Hoping to get my 3Dmark 06 score up from 14700....

Any help more than welcome

When you run the program there will be two horizontal lists. The first will say the name of your video card and stuff, and the second is about forceware. To the right of the list is a tiny button you can hit and it pops up like 4 or 5 buttons to the right of it. Click the first button and the screen that pops up should have the clocks on your card. Go ahead and do whatever you want...at your own risk lol.

This might help, it's a bit long so I guess just search down to overlocking, its got a good section on fan speed adjustment which you might need to do to keep her cool

Re your problem

when you overclock using rivatuner you dont really get extra peformance to the stock settings. Having tried i know as i dont even 9200 3dmarks m8 and ive got the 9800gx2 just like yourself

what do you mean you dont really get extra performance?

well ive tried it out and iwhen i put the card to 700 core with linked clocks i only managed to get maybe 100 extra marks and when i put the card upto 750 core i actually lost points from the stock setting and also at 650

afaik software overclocking is crap
