I can't play it. I'm ill. The auto detect settings put everything at very high, and my monitor only supports 1920x1200. It runs at like a frame every two seconds if at all. I have to turn everything down to high and lower the res to get it playable. And then it looks like crap. I'm running Vista 64bit because I'm planning on installing at least 4 gigs of ram but right now I'm only running 2 gigs. Does 64bit OSes have more overhead? Do I just need another 8800GT to play it? Is there any word on when there will be some vista sli drivers? Anything that will help is appreciated.

No gfx card out can play that on veyr high. i can barely play on medium 0xaa and 1680x1050

try medium, and lower res

Crysis + DX10 = graphics card rape.

SLi will help BUT won't run it maxed, you need to wait on the next gen coming Q1 '08...

on my gts i can run all very high cept shaders which are on high, at 1680, it seems the shader settings are what kills mine. altho tbh its been a bit stuttery in later stages so i might lower it again..

either way dont expect 1920x1200 all very high yet, not for at least 6 months

In Vista using DX10? I can't even get 20+ FPS on very high with a lil bit of AA

It dosent look like crap on HIGH :O how very dare you.. wack it down to DX9 and run it maxed.. Or stick with high/Medium DX10.. looks all similar to me..

Are you two talking about new hardware or new drivers?

When starting the first level the opening demo scene looks so jagged I'm afraid I'd cut my self on my monitor. Acual gameplay doesn't look bad its really choppy though. Why would the auto detect suggest very high for everything in the first place?

i don't play with AA on tbh i dont feel the need in this tbh kemp, yeah it'd be nice but i like a few moments of acceptable smooth not all slideshows :P

also i meant hardware, i doubt drivers will change the fact that it rapes everything lol

Today00 - SuB is playing in DX9 which is why he can get pretty decent frame rates.

We are all talking about new hardware. The GT can't cut it in DX9 (imo) never mind DX10. The more screenies I see of the 3870 the more impressed I am by them. The IQ is something else. Sure the GT pulls more frames but it looks crap.

I mean, side by side comparison of crysis/stalker. I look at my rig and the IQ i get, I look at this guys screen shots on XS who is rockin the 38's and it's almost like a different game!

I'm so off topic now.

Today00 - no ones rig is good enough for crysis. It's not even a good game. I was playing last night and meh was the feeling, farcry is a suit.

UT3 tonight, I'm trialing the full version ;), now that engine is sweet, gameplay, visually, decent frame rates etc

DAMN NO EDIT!

Another thought, who the hell will even want to play this in a few months time? New cards come out, they are the pwnage, I'm not about to dig up a mediocre game to go, ooh, pretty. By then the engine will have been used on some games with a bit of depth

Crysis is a very good game. Me? I'll be playing it for years to come probably as I:

A: have no time

B: don't have an attention span long enough to play a game more than 5 mins

I'm playing the demo right now and all i can say is wow, wish my PC could handle all high settings let alone medium in DX9. Once I scrounge up enough cash i'll build myself a new rig and i'll end up buying this game.

Help Please!

Crysis lags on my computer and I don't know why! I'm running a Core 2 Duo at 2.8 Ghz, 8800GT oc'd to SSC speed and 2 gb ram. I installed the Crysis beta drivers and updated my motherboard chipset drivers and it still lags! I'm playing on high settings at 1440x900. Someone please help!

DX10 or DX9?

DX9 or DX10 it doesnt matter, iv tried opening both on medium settings, looks identical, DX10 only comes in at Very High Settings.

Put down ur graphics detail to medium, and u should get higher frames

Man that sucks! The only reason I even bought the 8800GT was to play Crysis on high settings! Damn it!!!!!!

That's not true, my housemate played the full game halfway through on very high, full settings at 1680x1050 until Crysis decided to start getting random memory leaks. He has the same card as myself, a BFG 8800GTX OC.

Sorry but you just cannot play Crysis on very high DX10 path in Vista on anything over 1368 x 768 with a GTX. A pair of them struggle at higher resolutions

DX9 High maybe, but not DX10
