As i've just spent £450 on new bits to get my current system into a SFF based case i will also be chucking my old bits into an upgrade of the Mrs system.

She will be taking the following from me.

E4300 - Clocked to 3.3ghz

2x1GB OCZ Ram

Abit AW9D Max

I've just also bought a 8400GS for her as the 9600pro she has atm is AGP.

I know it will be more than fine for "farcebook" which is what she mainly uses but i also want to use it as a 2nd gaming PC for when my nephew is around so we can play some games.

Do you think the 8400GS will be ok with titles on low settings?? I'm hoping the CPU will take most of the grunt - of course on stuff like crysis it wont help, but lets say a bit of Quake III or UT3 on low and the odd bit of Warsow it should do find shouldnt it?

tbh id get something with a little more grunt. That 3650/70 or whatever it was kemp reviewed?

8400s just arn't gaming cards imo.

For nVidia, anything lower than a xyz600 shouldn`t be considered for gaming.

Media and desktop stuff, which is what she wants to do.

Although I`d try it for a low setting game tbh :) If I can play RomeTotalWar & C&C Generals on a centrino latop with onboard intel gfx, I`m sure a 8400 would do better.

EDIT: hehe. Meant to be on par with a Geforce4 Ti 4600 lol. hmmm

Oh - well its a little late already bought it :D

Was just £20 so i didnt care - if it get 30-50fps in some games i'll be happy, it looks like its as good as the 9600 which should be fine for the games me and Zane will play.
