Guys,

After about 30 minutes of playing any games with my cards overclocked to 440/1200 the game (and rest of machine) freezes for about 30 seconds and then carries on working (until next time).

If i drop the overclock on the core a bit, it resolves the problem.

If i leave the side of my case off, it resolves the problem.

I'm thinking that the gpu's are getting a little too toasty (despite me having Zalman's on them), and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions (other than using Arctic Cooling NV5's - as they dont fit in SLI mode)

I was thinking of removing my case window and replacing it with an aluminium mesh, to hopefully give the same airflow as having the case side off....

What dya think?

NOOOOOOO...

Cut a blowhole (do it properley in the side using a 120mm fan) and blow all over those babies :D

440/1200 is pretty high mate :D

Ummm and when are we gonna get benchies then ey???

what about placing more fans around the cards? or something blowing onto them

Yeah, to be honest tho, its really tight in my case already with the SLI :(

liquid cooling???

Yet again, not enough space. I got a smaller case because i'm going to be phase changing the cpu soon.

Shame i cant get a liquid metal cooler :D

is it the bottom card overheating because i just thought it could be that the top card is blowing hot hair down on the bottom card overheating a bit to much, could this be correct?

Cut a hole in my baby? U gotta be kidding right? Too much effort as well, and it would screw up the looks.

Yeah i'll get some benches - when i'm not playing css i'll hafta download that frikking huge 3dmark proggy. Or maybe i'll just do some CSS benches or sommit.

I demand a 3dmark!!

Call yourself a modder?? - that would be the best way mate :freak:

Other than that youshould maybe consider looking for a replacement side and mod that or perhaps yeah get a mesh side with a fan...but then that would look a bit tac :(

i think you should try the Vantec Spectrum Card it reduced my vgas temp about 9degrees but that would happen only on the bottom card but that still would help. btw what are idle temps like?

Both idle temps are between 52-56oc

I'm not a modder, i'm a clocker ;)

I could maybe get a window made - but i hate windows with fans on them because you can almost aways see the wire coming out of them

How about i just remove the window. lol

I've attempted to download 3dmark twice, and both times i've got roped into playing CSS or something, and paused the download. Then i've forgotten about it and shut down my computer...grrr

Mod the wire - braid it - that would be well easy :) - Damn I'd do it for you if you sent me a fan :D A new perspex with a laser cut hole in it would be sweet :D - get a nice fan grill on it and hey presto :)

You could remove the window although I dunno - that would be a bit pants IMO

And yeah I know the feeling - get it downloading overnight or something ;)
