6.2" Touch Screen Mod

Just got my hands on a few 6.2" touch screen TFT's which i plan on mounting into the front of a couple of show cases mainly to show promotional videos while at events but hopefully want to get some software running on them to show vitals while in everyday use.

They are VGA screens and can run at 1600 x 1200 which is fine but to use the touch function with your fingers i dropped the res down to 720 x 480 which still looks fine while running Windows 8 and and is perfect for movies etc. but when surfing the horizontal scroll bar is needed though using a styles i could up the res as i'm running a 25 point calibration software which is really accurate.

Anyway, next step is to get them mounted but just thought i'd show a few pictures of where i'm at and how it will look in the front of a Cosmos II :distracted:

were did you get this!!! i have the perfect use for me personally with one of these
im using a Pi to run the OC key with my asus board and that would complete my build as i could overclock just by touching the screen on the front of my case if that makes sense... and maybe you could use my idea too ? or something simular, but anyway i digress looks awesome :)

I've been having a good bit play around with the resolution to find what is the best for both quality and usability of the touch screen and at present i'd say creating a Custom Res in the Nvidia control panel of 640 x 480 is best for using fingers though using a styles it can go quite a bit higher though i think i'm just going to keep it at the current rate for now and see how i get on :)

Oh BTW, it can go to 1600 x 1200 but its hard enough to actually see the icons never mind trying to use the touch function as you can see in pic 2 below

Just a quick little update really - broke out the laser guided Fret Saw and attacked a bit of 2mm aluminium sheet to make a new bezel for the Cosmos II which will hold the TFT with double sided foam tape once its been etch primed and painted carbon black.

Anyway, once the TFT is mounted, the whole thing will bolt onto the front of the XSPC dual DDC Bay Res so it will be pretty sturdy :)

Oh yeah, i also filed a 45 degree chamfer onto the cut edges so its easier to use the touch screen.

Damm that is one sweet looking machine, white COSMOS II looks the dogs and the double res is a nice touch. Only bit I don't like is the big white and blue CM logo on the front, in my opinion it ruins the otherwise minimalist style of the front bezel.
Everything else is top notch.

This looks awesome mate. I like the touch screen. Would be cool if you could run some water-cooling/temp monitor app fullscreen on it.
