Hey, I just got a 4930k in my hands and I was seeing how increasing the base clock is going on this cpu compared to the 3930k or is the x79 chipset still limited on the base clock increase. I'm currently using a asrock 6gb board and I was hoping to squeeze some extra performance out of the system. Thanks in advance!

Wouldn't that extra "squeeze" be more trouble than actuall performance gain? I think it will cause more stability issues then processing power. It would be vice to stay away if you are going for a 24/7 OC.

I'm looking to bump up some other things in my rig other than just the mhz on the processor. I know the new haswell-e allows this, and I'm used to this from O/C over the years, I just wanted to see if anyone is doing this on their Ivy-E

i thought both bridge processors could only go up to 105mhz before things went bonkers. tbh broseph. just wang up the multiplier and enjoy the gains.
