I found out the hard way, so you may learn
Ordered a gigabyte 460 SOC as its awsome bang for buck and on offer atm at some retail sites. works fine on evrything other than a 790 chip set I have found.
At first thought it was HD audio drivers but alas this unfortunatly wasnt the case. tried many diff. aged drivers and took a long time making sure all audio and nvid drivers where sweeped b4 tryig again, tried the display drivers b4 any audio drivers installed also...after 5-6 hours of tinkering and every idea i could think of I gave up and put my 5770's back in.
Many things online in other forums about this issue. I belive it boils down to firmware?
Anyways just a heads up the 460 dosent seem to work on 790 boards.
