3570k temps safe?

Hey there guys!

I'm quite new to overclocking Ivy bridge processors so I'll keep this short.

I got my 3570k to run stable 4.5GHz at 1.2 volts.

My cooler is the corsair H80 and I've ran 12h of Prime95 with max core temps of

70c, 77c, 73c and 68c. I'm planning to use this as a gaming rig and I don't think there

are games that even push CPU the same way as prime does.

So my question is, am I safe to play with these settings and temps?

Those temps are absolutely fine mate. A good OC

maxing out at 77 seems fine to me. I know the ivy's are meant to run a little hotter than the sandy's. However based on your cooler i would've expected lower temps with only 1.2 volts. Your cooler may need re seating? see what the others say but that's my opinion

Edit: As said above, great overclock by the way!

Cool. I'm gonna check my cooler later. But I'm pretty sure that 77c max temp on 1 core happened only once and lasted

like 1 or 2 seconds. After that it never got over 74c

Regardless, those temps are fine so i wouldn't say there's any rush into re seating or anything like that unless you planned to OC further. you should see what you max out during BF3 etc. i would say those are more realistic for day to day
