£300 gamer build, will this do it?

Yeah, i'd snap that ram up while you can. 8GB of 1600MHz ram for £30? AND it looks good?! Madness.
As for the graphics card, the 6000 series weren't quiet cards, dude. Although, I can't speak about the noise levels of the other cards.
OCd cards do not have to be noisier than usual, it just depends on the fans they use.

Yea I want to aswell. I just dont wanna buy it standalone, as Ill have to pay shipping twice then. I wanna get it all in one go. >_<

Wouldnt the 7750 OC be better then?

Another good option :)
It would seem as though a 550Ti is comparable to the 7750, but the 7770 beats it at most things. It is a bit noisier than the 550Ti, however.

I have talked to my gf and she says she wont mind noise from a HD6850, that I have found for £100 on Amazon.

Then again, should I really expect any noise from it when it just runs Sims 3?

So a Pentium G860, 8gigs and a HD6850. How does it all sound for her needs? :O)

All looks dandy to me :)

You dont by any chance know any trusted psu brands within similar pricerange that is modular? If theres one thing I hate its a mess of unplugged cables in the case. I know psu is a very important component so I wont just pick anything. Amazon has something called "Powercool" for £35 but Ive never heard of that brand.

Never buy an unbranded psu, IMO in a small budget it really isnt worth going with a modular psu just to avoid a bit of cable mess

Aye.
Two reasons to get modular: 1) aesthetics 2) air flow
You haven't got the money to fund it nor the parts that need an extortionate amount of airflow, so just go for a cheap, good quality PSU.

Okay, thanks.

Regarding CPU (yea, I just cant stop, lol :D)... You said you thought the G860 would be better than the Phenom II 965 Hz for Hz, but how is that when the Phenom runs 3.4ghz? I realize not many games utilizes 4 cores, but wouldnt 2 cores from the Phenom theoretically be better than the G860s? And would 4 cores make multitasking faster?

The speed of a processor, whether it be a GPU or a CPU, should only be compared if it's the same architecture.
The Pentium runs the same architecture as the i7 2600k, it's just got less cores and slightly less MHz-age.
Clock for clock, the Pentium beats the Phenom.

Oh you're right, the PSU only has one 6 pin connector. You can either get a different one or use a dual molex to 6 pin adapter, which usually comes with cards these days but you may have to pick one up separate.

Will this do the job for the system and gpu?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thermalta...Supplies_EH&hash=item20c4ce3e57#ht_2792wt_952

Connections
1x Main Power (24 Pin)
1x ATX 12V (4+4 Pin)
1x PCI-E (6+2 Pin)
1x PCI-E (6 Pin)
5x SATA (5 Pin)
5x Peripheral (4 Pin)
1x FDD (4 Pin)

Can't say that i've heard of that PSU before, so I can't comment on its reputability. It does have the correct connectors.

You dont know Thermaltake? I believe they're a leading manufacturer with some of their cases and power supplies. If I remember correct they were the first brand with a 1500W psu.

I have Thermaltake myself (case, psu and keyboard), its a really solid brand.

Thanks for letting me know it has the right connectors.
