Weve just order 3 x systems for the kids all different all based on the Intel atom platform.

1 x Dell Inspiron Mini 10 (pink cover) £299.99 + extras (got them free)

1 x Samsung Net book NC 10 £269 + £20 cash Back (offer)

1 x Acer Aspire Revo R3600 Atom N230-1.6GHz Nettop £242.49

All prices Inc VAT and Del

Once there all here ill take pics and a little review on them all

Does the OS one not come with extra RAM/some kind of input device too though? Besides, an OS will set ya back best part of 100 notes anyway. looks like a good xmas at your bit! Still gotta get my sisters netbook sorted. Got an Acer one, backlight died after about an hour :(
 
The acer aspire comes with alot of extras inc

4 gb ram 320 gig Hd - air mouse, wireless KB , external dvdrw usb and some thing else i cannot remember and window vista (that will be changed). So for £100 more i think i got a bit of a bargain. (take in to consideration a external slimline no power dvdrw is normaly about £45+)

allso the dell comes with digital turner built in, 1 year free internet via a built in phone thing, blue tooth, 6 cell battery, wireless matching logtiec laser mouse, HDMI port, Cover, and a whole bunch of software.

The samsung came with 6 cell battery.

fun yet educational, sounds good to me ;), i wud get the acer as i prefer the looks but the asrock is dual core so might suit me a little better:), looking foward to a few snaps and a small review;)?
 
we have both lap tops here now. Cannot pull them out while kdis about. the other one is a 4 day delivery.

there all here now. Cannot do any reviews or any thing just yet as the whole house is being gutted for the next few days starting Wednesday.

The whole hose is being re wired (due me building arcades ROTFLMAO) and there cutting all the walls and our new kitchen is all so being fitted on Wednesday.

So every thing in house is being stored for a few days.
 
Oky here is a warning to all users ..

DO NOT BY THE ACER ASPIRE REVO. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

1) The product comes with NO documentation what so ever.

2) The product comes with no recovery CD's

3) The product DOES NOT HAVE a back up partition to make you own cds.

4) ACER SUPPORT will not help you. Ive spent 1 hour and they just said down load the drivers and info off there web site. you cannot download the OS cds from there.

5) IF this product fails then you are basicly bugged unless you use DODGY windows CDs.

Just a pre warning to all you potential customers. who may of been thinking about this product.

Acer will talk to you through there support and will not provide you with the cds and will keep saying the same thing. There Indian customer support service have not got a clue what they are talking about what so ever. There m,angers who run there customer support center all so do not have a clue what they are talking about. They have broken the Microsoft EULA as well by not providing the customer with a accessible back up of the OS. I will be contacting Microsoft about this matter.

Before any one say i can do a ghost back up my self but if i was a normal customer this would be a major problem as they would have to take it to a shop to be fixed. not very good at all and just shows how lazy Acer are becoming. As they say the larger they become and higher up the ladder they go the harder they will fall.
 
That's weird, all the Acers I've got asked me to create the disks as they booted for the 1st time.

Loving HP laptops mehself atm. Got some Espresso range ones for some people the last couple of weeks, and a nice Toshiba one.

Some nice ones out there.
 
Rastalovich i agree all laptop's that ive bought in the past did but this thing didn't have any thing like that at all.

So im pitty annoyed as it just goes to show how lazy they are ..

When i asked for them to send me them they said no and told me to download them off the internet. which is a complete micky take as if i didn't have a second pc or internet connection then id be stuffed. Worst customer service ever.
 
As dor the dell and the Samsung they are very good. I cannot do a review till xmass day as there packed away now till then lol.

But as for value for money the dell certainly doesn't have pack a punch with all its extras.
