2D to 3D Conversion

Other than the 3Dfier plugin, are there any other programs or plugins (for a low cost or free) that can covert 2D movies to 3D?

What are some recommended 3D media players besides the 3D Vision Video Player?

Also, is there a way to make my desktop (including start menu, windows, etc) 3D without using additional software? If not, what software could I use?

I have used PowerDVD 11 for watching movies in 3D, but it's far from free (really expensive actually). I only have one 3D movie which in handled well, but it's not that user friendly. It also has a 2D to 3D feature, but it doesn't work that well. It just looked like the upper half was deeper and nothing more. Also, it only plays 3D videos in 720p to my knowledge. I don't know any other players, but to be honest, i don't really like watching 3D movies with 3D Vision.

I really suggest you try 3Dfier though. It is actually amazing at 2D conversion. It's just $25 for the full version though. Too pricey for me.

I just tried PowerDVD and it's amazing! Even the 2D conversion is great! I got it from the inlet of water that houses people who attack and rob ships at sea.
