2500k and 3570k for quiet PC?

I wouldn't normally consider it - but if settings are toned down to low graphical details - games are playable on it.
It at least means that if you're building a budget PC, you can get it working to a decent level without having to buy a graphics card straight away. It's just a shame the new IB i3s don't have the HD4000 graphics though, as then this reasoning may be a little more justifiable.
Also there's that thing with video rendering times while using it isn't there?
Not that I've ever rendered a video in my entire life - but it's meant to be something worth using :)

For people that are non gamers but need CPU power IB/SB is nice.

But for anyone who wants to enjoy games at higher level on a tight budget I would say a Phenom with a dedicated GPU.

I own a locked Intel i5 CPU, it was wery easy to overclock I just changed multiplier and vcore :D

But soon I will own a used 2500k that does 1.45v@4.9Ghz.
However I have quiet PC and cooling is enough for 1.2-1.32v only mostlikely unless I crank up the fans.
In IBT I will make sure to not Exceed 85c at highest core when running 20IBT.

Considering it does 1.45v@4.9Ghz I'm going to start by setting vcore to 1.20v and 42x100 for 1.20v@4.2Ghz.
Is this OK? Is there other ***** I need to enable/disable tweak?

In case it passes 5 IBT I'll keep increasing speed by 100mhz until PC crashes :D
Then I'll decrease 10-50mhz and run 10ITB until it chrashes :D

Finaly I might run 20IBT to make sure it's 100% BF3 stable :D

Ive read a review where the 3570k got up to 10% more fps in games clock for clock.

So honestly if I was to buy a new cpu I would pay the small premium for IB over SB, also there is the PCI-E 3.0 which might not be as important...

Factor in the less powerusage aswell for IB.
In my case it IS Folding At Home related !
don't game on my third rig....

but it almost counts as the same in regards to points...
but it is going to be the new (CPU i5 3570k) one

I'm planning to upgrade to 3570K and Z77 platform quite soon but I have a question. I have a 560Ti and 2 monitors. Where should I plug my monitors - to the motherboard or to the video card itself? Does it make any difference in gaming and can I use the video encoding on board the CPU either way?

look doesn't matter the CPU speed or Overclock. Once your fans are silent and airflow is fluid and pass without too much intererace there will be less noise. Also your running watercooling so should be quite for most times so just decrease the voltage and lower you fan speeds.

For example my CPU is a 3930K 1.15v @ 3.6ghz
Raystorm Intel Block Gigabyte X79-UP4
Fans on both RS240s spin at 1250rpm
GPU is also watercooled
temps are decent at load 61, 62, 65, 63, 61, 60
gpu 55'C
ambient is 31'C at time of testing.
loudest component is the god damn mobo with its f@ckin coil whine!

To the GPU mate,
i am not quite sure what you mean mate also in regards to the encoding ..

Care to elaborate ?

There's the thing with Lucid Logic to speed up video encoding - I think that has to be plugged into the motherboard - but I'm not sure

Lucid MVP allows you to use your GPU while still using the iGPU for encoding. You plug the monitor into your graphics card, and leave the motherboard alone :)

Again thanks guys awesome the fast help,
