I was looking at The X2 cpus today thinking 'dam i wish i could afford one'. So i went in search of a figure that the prices may drop by (a %). Alass i didn;t find that, what i found insted was this:

Is this table for real? or some wackos wish?

Cos if its real i think im gonna save up and get me one.

the prices are already on www.overclockers.co.uk

but ive found out they aren't planning on am2 fecking bundles

greaaaat

anyway i was just wondering

which conroe is equivalent to which am2 x2?

im seriously considering conroe for gaming

If your building a new system go for conroe. Im thinking of getting an X2 as its a nice jump up from my 3500. No other parts to replace. And will hopfuly tide me over till AMDs answer to conroe is about

the socket conroe uses is a new socket is it not? if so im hoping it will be around for at least 2 years?

hmmm now my 3800 is worthless im at a loss as to what to do :(

Sell it while you can mate. I sold my Opty and still got big bucks for it as lots of ppl dont know about the new tech yet.

Hmm... I may pick up a 3800+ then... just to tide me over for a year or so till I build up enough cash to make the move to whatever is the best platform out

Depends on the game but E6300 seems to be between the 4600+ and 5000+:

They didn't seem to have the E6400 but as it's 2MB cache I'm guessing the performance will be closer to the E6300 than the E6600 (what happened to E6500?).

So looking at the prices on overclockers I'd say conroe is still better bang for your buck (not including how much a mobo will be).
