sir strawbz will the main man be uploading that vid so its on the tube for midnight. cos i am willing to forgo my beautysleep to watch this +60min epic. flipping half chub territory
Exactly what i was thinking. Tbh i think its a bit to expencive, and i wouldnt wanna buy another one of these because of a dead chip. Staying on safe Vcore
Do you really see that much of a gain from 1366 benching though? Reading around its around 1.5% from what I can see, granted you need a nice 1366 chip but hey ho, time will tell.
I know that feeling. People have offered me £100 for my Rampage 3! Plus it would only end up in my own rig and not my bench rig. Better to spend my money on stuff I'm willing to kill
The problem with them is it's just SB again. It's not like you can keep on buying and selling these chips to find the right one that does 5.7+ ..it's too expensive to do that. Most people will just get one chance to get a decent chip and if like me you get this one and can't even do 5.2 under the cold, you've wasted a lot of money. Most will do 5-5.30GHz. Those lucky enough will get a 5.3+ one. Want some decent points? 5.4+ is what you need.
Whatever clock speed is lost on these chips, you can go X58+98/990X+LN2 and push up to 7G to make up for it. Granted these chips are killer for Vantage & 11, but unless you have LN2 and a decent 580, it's too much to burn for probably not a lot of boints. Best stick with searching for a 57+ 25/26/2600K and wait for Ivy.
