Hi

I'm busy choosing different parts for my 1st water cooling rig this is what i have come up with please help!

Phobya extreme 200 Radiator

XSPC Raystorm Cpu water block

XSPC X20 750 Dual 5.25" bay ress

SPC G1/4″ to 1/2″ ID, 3/4″ OD Compression Fitting (Black Chrome)

XSPC 1/2" ID tubing with 3/4" OD white

The reason i have chosen the 200mm rad is because i have a corsair 600t and i wanna fit it in the front. its only going to cool a i7 920 CPU (hoping to get 4Ghz +)

and my theme is black and white.

Does the water i use matter, if so what do you recommend?

I also need to know what fans to go and if i should go push pull ?

Thanks guys

You want to be using some coolant like Mayhems premix.

For fans i'd suggest Scythe Gental Typhoons 1850rpm.

How thick is the rad you are using? if you can and it will fit get a 60mm thick one because it will cool better that a skinny 30mm one. Then again there is the new XSPC EX rads which are 30mm thick and sit between a RS skinny rad and a RX thick rad performance wise, but i'm not sure if they do a 200mm one.

Also, if you have a skinny rad you will need your fans on high to get decent temps but with a thick rad you can have your fans set lower and still get decent temps.

Having fans in pull is more effective than having them in push, only by a couple of c* though. Push pull will only lower your temps by a few c* as well, but with push and pull you also have the expense of two extra fans and twice the noise.

If noise doesn't bother you then go for push pull if you want but you still have the added noise and it's not going to give you much of a drop in temps.

Hey

The rad is a 36mm thick if i could i would get a 240 60mm rad but it wont fit in the corsair 600t a 200mm will fit in the front of the case .

the rad is 200X200X36 .

The coolant you wont see since im getting white tubing?

But like i said please help if you have any ideas as to how i can get a better rad in my case or whatever please let me know.

Thanks

How are you planning to get that 200mm Phobya Radiator in the front? Drilling extra holes?

I was looking into doing the same thing (200mm in front) but the holes in the front are 155mm apart... Exept from the standard Corsair fans, there aren't any fans that will fit there I think. And the Phobya's 'fan adaptors' don't have holes for this kind of fan either. It's a pita if you wanted to do it without drilling
