£1000 build, advice welcome.

Alright. Looks like They're a little more expensive, but if you say it's worth it then I guess I'll go with the sapphire

Worth it. I can remember the XFX coolers struggling to keep the 7970 and 7950 cards cool. Lots of users had problems with them.

They recommend at least a 750w psu. So I'm not sure if this is really for me. I mean that would require me getting a larger power supply than the 550w.

The RM650 would be the sweetspot for high-end systems with a single GPU I suppose. That would be more than plenty. A 550w unit could be enough but honestly I'd bump it up to 650.

OK, so I've ordered all of this so far;

All of this will arrive on Saturday. I Haven't ordered a graphics card yet, because I have more money than I originally intended. I'm thinking about getting a GTX 780. What do you guys think?

I would go with a 290 over a 780 tbh. Slightly faster, if you wanted the 780 over the 290 then sure go for it. It all depends on budget and games you play.

Go for a 290 as its cheaper and can be slightly faster. Thats what I would do. If you're set on getting a 780 I'd recommend the inno3D iChill :).

You guys are right. And this Sapphire card actually looks really nice http://www.dabs.com/products/sapphire-technology-amd-radeon-r9-290-1050mhz-4gb-pci-e-3-0-hdmi-vapor-x-9CL5.html?refs=498110000&src=2

I love the back plate on the pcb. It's going to be a focal point in the case for sure.
I wont have the card in the system straight away though. I'll have to wait a while till I have the money to put towards the gpu and I'll get another SSD at the same time.

When I get it I'll make sure to take some pics to show you guys. Thanks for all your suggestions.
