Fresh leaks on the R9 295X2 (Now Pictured)

News Guru
AMD over the past few weeks have been consistently bombardign us with the hashtag "2betterthan1". Now leaks are appearing all over the net, revealing AMD's dual Hawaii GPU the R9 295X2.

Do these leaks hold water?.. probably, given videocardz's recent track here. Now for the juicy, juicy info.

The R9 295X2 will be a dual Hawaii cored GPU with 8GB of total memory, which is unsurprising given that this GPU is based on two 4GB 290Xs.

The GPU will also be packaged in this, an AMD branded briefcase. Note how similar this looks to Asus' Aries II briefcase (see Aries II review here), this could mean that the case could have a similar contents, perhaps this card does hold water?

The original leaker claimed this briefcase weighed 5 kilograms.

One other thing is that the markings on the briefcase look very similar to the image shared by AMD on Saturday (See top Image).

The card is also to have 5 display outputs, which are a single dual-link DVI-D and 4 mini-displayports. This will make this card be able to support multiple 4K, or even a 8K screen.

(Deja Vu?)

Videocardz also say that the NDA will allow pictures of this briefcase will be released by reviewers on April 2nd, with the NDA lifting on the 8th. It remains unconfirmed if this will mark the release of the GPU or it's reviews.

This GPU may be a very interesting launch from AMD, if this card is indeed cooled by an AIO water cooler we should be getting a very cool GPU. If AMD keep the price within reason Nvidia's Titan Z may as well not even exist.

Please post your thoughts and feeling below.

UPDATE; AMD R9 295X2 is pictured on Chinese site chiphell.

So I can now confirm to your guys that the AMD R9 295X2 will utilize a Hybrid air/AIO watercooler and that the card will have a Black Backplate.

Judging be the rear pic of the card it also looks like it will be using dual 8-pin pci-e power connectors.

Is it just me or does this cooler look very HD 7000 series XFX?

Anything will look cheap beside the Titan Z, that thing is beyond belief as far as price goes.

I imagine the R9 295X2 will be at least $1000 cheaper, if not $1500 cheaper. Nvidia has gave AMD a lot of room in that regard.

 good point nVidia really are taking the smeg with the Titan Z pricing, I guess we'll have to hang on a few more days to see the NDA lifted.

I'm hoping for AMDs sake they have not taken this to far by building up all the hype just for everyone to turn to team green anyway.

I don't imagine/hope AMD arn't hiking up the price here becouse of the Z, Nvidia could easily release a 790 with dual 78Ti's with dual 3GB memory.

We should know more about the card in a few days :).

Very true but in the mean time here's what I believe is in the case.

My current theory is that the picture AMD shared will be the logo on the other side of that briefcase.

Unless AMD go for a full cover waterblock they will require a fan to cool VRMs, memory etc.

The card looks to long to me.

If it isn't a fake then it will be interesting to see how it performs with just a single 120mm rad to cool both GPU's.

I am believing nothing that is posted today, if it gets posted tomorrow then I will still be sceptical but I will find it more believable than something posted on April fools.

It does look like a shoop though, it looks a lot like someone has shooped a Nvidia ref cooler.
Only 2x8 pins as well? I doubt that very much.

It would be pretty awkward if everyone got hyped about this hybrid design and then Chiphell is like "lol April fool's" and AMD releases the card with their own design shitty aircooler.

It doesnt have the CFX connection on it either......

Well spotted :)
AMD don't use them any more yet that pic clearly shows it as having one.

The pic itself is off some random person on a Chinese forum, Chip Hell just made a news article about it. This kind of stuff happens with most new cards so i'm not surprised by this.

I can't tell what bothers me more about it, whether that most people think it's legit on facebook or that the air cooler on it looks like a XFX card.
