Zotac Amp! 9800GT overheating.

Well as posted before, the CPU overheating issue is sorted - thanks again those who helped me out there. :)

Noooooow I have another problem, my GPU is running hot! I mean, I know it usually runs hot anyway but when I'm getting idle temps at 66C and (before it crashes) 110C on load, I think it's safe to say there's a problem!

I'm probably going to re-apply the thermal paste on the GPU and RAM moduals, as well as the mosfet block (forgot to mention it's an EK-FC88 gpu block :D) but is there anything else anyone can suggest if it's not the problem? I looked at reviews on the GPU and it says that idle temps are around 25C!!!!!

So after my minor heart failure I decided it was time to seek help. :D Thanks in advance!

thats under water!!!

noo somethings not right

i have a gtx280ocx and you could fry eggs on that before watercooling!

current temps no load , heating on (.. our lass is cold.. im in a t-shirt.. figure that one out! )

core 40 degrees

ambient 36 degrees

load peaks at 50 to 54 degrees.

thats on a EK block, ddc ultra and 1 120.1 with blackfire fan.

make sure the block isnt done up too tight and warped the card AND that you have tim pads on the mosfets and ram (pretty sure the ek block needs thin tim pads on the ram)

TIM pads for the RAM mods.? And not thermal paste? :O learn something new...!

It's the same as the one reviewed here - so is it either thermal paste or TIM pads?

In the loop it's DDC Ultra -> xspc 240 -> apogee gtz -> xspc 120 -> ek-fc88.

I've noticed the temps were high before, but didn't realise how stupidly high they are. :( Will try and re-apply paste/TIM pads ASAP.

EDIT: Sorry for the double post, didn't realise lasher changed his. Would these been fine? http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=27_81&products_id=1151

And I should put them on the mosfets (already have done so, but I'll put them on again) AND the RAM moduals?

Well just got some more TIM pads today, reapplied thermal paste and TIMs and temps idle are around 36C to 39C. :)

Thanks for the help Tom and lasher!
