This is basically what I sent creative,

Just got this player and upon turning on it goes to recovery mode. I have finally got it detected on my computer (after reinstalling and adding media player) but it will not budge past recovery mode. I have tried the "Reload firmware" option. I have the latest firmware downloaded but when I try to run it (and update the firmwaere) it tells me my player is not plugged in, although it is listed in "My Computer". All i can do with my player at the moment is recharge while in recovery mode and while the usb is not inserted, stare at the recovery mode menu.

Any ideas

You could also try the Creative Forums, but it sounds like an RMA mate. Or can you just return it to the reseller for a replacement?

It did have firmware but my pc couldnt detect the player so i figured it was a firmware issue, clicked the replace firmware button and before I knew it my firmware was gone

So all i gotta do is load a firmware on and it should be good to go

Well bloody hell folks, have aguess what was stopping me updating? Yes its a M$ product and yes it was a recent adddition...WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 11 - WHAT A FAGGETY PROGRAM
