Hi.
My z97 won't boot after switching it off. I need to remove one ram stick power it up then switch off put stick back in and starts normally. After finished using it shut it down and won't boot in the morning.

It's gigabyte z97x sli board with 4790k. Nothing overclocked.

Sounds to me like it's a faulty ram stick, leave the one you are taking out, out then try a few cycles and see if it still does it if it doesn't you know what the issue is

Have you set XMP?After upgrading to a 4790k my pc started to boot loop.
Needed to use XMP profile 2, and go down form 2400MHz ram to 2133MHz.

Thing is if it won't post it doesn't matter which stick I take out. Tried it with only 2 left and it's same after leaving it overnight. Won't post until I remove or add a memory stick.

Is a memory controller might be faulty on CPU or faulty motherboard??

Try one stick at a time - also try updating your BIOS.

Gigabyte boards went through a stage of 'forgetting' bios settings and causing this, sometimes even could be called a cold boot issue
