Hi there i was wanting to know if any one knew about the new Z87 motherbords. I have EK Supreme HES waterblock on my i7 950, i am looking to upgrade to a i7 4770k soon. I guess i will get to the point, will i need to buy a new waterblock for the 4770k or will one of the fittings that i got with the waterblock fit the new cpu/mobo.

Z87 boards will run on the same mounting size as Z77 (and all other 1155 and 1156 boards).
As long as you have the fittings that are for 1155 or 1156, you will be fine.

awesome thanks for the fast reply. yeah i have the 1155 mounting bracket in the box waiting to go. can't wait to see how the 4770k overclocks on water i have heard some 1 getting 5ghz on 0.9 volts.

Before the proper reviews go live, that doesn't mean anything.

For all we know, 0.9v on Haswell could be the maximum voltage these chips can take, and also might put out similar heat outputs to Ivy at high voltages.

All we've properly seen so far have been CPU-z screenshots, which don't replicate much into real world performance levels.

EK will most likely mail you a bracket if need be (if for some reason that previous person above me could be incorrect about the compatibilty). They often do that for free as well.

Well looking on another forum, Gigabyte are doing something relating to what I can only assume is Z87 boards on the 3rd June 2013.

Which could be photoshopped anyway.

i am going to re do my loop with haswell going to go for a black and green theme if i end up getting the gigabyte G1 Sniper 5. will have to wait to see if the motherbord waterblock on the sniper 5 is worth using.
