Hey guys i would like to Read your thoughts on shogun 2 total war :D

My thoughts on shogun 2 is that it is a great game with awesome multiplayer and even greater singleplayer aspects
i own every total war game except napolean and will be getting Rome II :)

My only problem with shogun2 is the lack of balance between The expansion and the original game in multiplayer :(
I have a diamond rank 10 fall of the samurai avatar and a Gold rank 10 shogun 2 avatar with a 36 match made win streak

what are your thoughts on shogun 2?

Loved every-one of them, possibly with the exception of Napolean.

Will get Rome II of course ;)

Shogun was the first one I played. Shogun 2 ~kinda~ does it justice. They still have annoying things here and there that you'd wish they'd do.

I'm really waiting for them to make Total World of War - that would be something.

yeah, they have covered everything from Roman expansion to 17th and 18th centuries now they need to do the 20th or 21st century :D

Yea I'm a massive fan too. I spent many weekends fighting co-op campaigns. My only issue has been how buggy they are at release (and for several months after). The game play isn't perfect but I absolutely love it anyway. My gf also enjoys watching it which is a big bonus!

I think scale and speed is a big issue in making any Total War: Modern Warfare. Mobilised armies and air power would completely change the battlemap.

I am new to the total war games, but i have been playing napoleon, pretty difficult at first, but enjoyable all the same.

medieval TW II teutons for the win haha, i got a really nice score in a custom game yesterday, 3000 killed 52 lost in shogun 2, ashigaru wall owns haha

Oda FTW!

I'm currently playing co-op in fall of the samuri. I like to keep my armies stocked up with Armstrong cannons. It's a bit of a white-wash in battle.

Hattori FTW! ikko ikki was my first Legendary campaign completion then it was Obama DLC for Legendary

the best thing when combating FOTS players as SHogun 2 is to deploy Hanzo's shadows and kisho ninja to slow down the enemy Bandits are also good when there is a large amount of trees.

Full-Bow generals are beast :) mine can kill 300-500 people before the battle ends with just the generals bodyguard haha and those yugiketai are great for causing the other player to panic when he finds out his men are getting gunned down from the trees :D

i have gotten very into FOTS lately on youtube, i don't own the game yet and i also am still waiting to finish my frist build. How demanding s the game? I have a MSI 7950, you guys think i could run 1080p on ultra with 4xmsaa? Or does msaa not make the game look any better?

The game is easy to run im running 1600x900 on my laptop with 4xMSAA all ultra with all the boxed options on and it runs fairly smooth.

Theres very subtle differences with the samurai armor when using msaa 8X makes the armour look fantastic, even the material ties on the waist armor is smooth whereas it looks quite bad on no MSAA only issue i have is with Vram limitations causing noticible framerate spikes in huge battles.

In short its worth turning up the options to max you should get awesome performance, breathtaking visuals and awesome replayability :) While my internet was capped for a week i just played shogun 2 custom battles, its a good way to pass the time and to get better at the game

my core speed is 675 and memory is 1000 on my mobile chip and i run it fine :D

One you get it add my steam name: kotis
i can help you in some 2v2 multiplayer games or campaign mode :)
i downloaded every bit of DLC and purchased the original shogun 2 and rise of the samurai having all of them is good because when you use the shogun 2 original avatar you also get the ROTS units which cost 200 each and use loose formation at the start which makes them good shields for the veteran units.

I cant wait for rome 2 to come out that looks so much better than shogun 2 with combined seige and sea battles

Yes i agree! They said less seige battles and more normal ones, which is good because seeing the same fortress again and again seems like it would get boring pretty quick.

i tried adding you on steam and it said "this feature is not available at this time?" Any help?

Sent a pm:)

Also does anyone have any benchmarks they could post with a 7950 of FOTS? Or a card close to performance? I'm just really curious on how it would perform with everything maxed:p

A single decent card will be good enough for high settings and decent fps.

In large battles you will find yourself cpu limited :D
