Yet another help me find a monitor thread.

I'm really considering picking IPS monitors bit by bit towards a triple monitor Eyefinity/Surround. I am leaning towards IPS because I rarely game so I less picky about super fast refresh or response times, but colour accuracy and variety is pulling me toward the IPS panels. But of course IPS prices make me curl up into a ball

.

Why the drastic price difference for LED-IPS? For example, Dell U2410 is $700 while the LED-IPS U2412M is $400.

I'm aiming for a 23-24" widescreen, suggestions are very welcomed.

As for the triple screen set up, I currently have one 560 Ti. For some reason Nvidia's web team decided to put poorly visually defined tabs inside more tabs so I previously had trouble finding screen and card output needs http://www.nvidia.co...quirements.html . So I need help weighing up options between:

  1. Getting another 560 Ti. If I read the Nvidia system requirements correctly, in order to run 2D Surround, I must run in SLI instead of running two separate GPUs. Also "All displays must have a common resolution, refresh rate, and sync polarity", I'll probably be stuck with a double monitor set up until I can afford to get the second and third IPS monitor.
  2. Get an AMD card. I can run extended desktop over three different resolution monitor and forget about Eyefinity gaming for the time until I get the third monitor. I'll still keep the 560 Ti for Physx, CUDA and more F@H points.
  3. KFA2 MDT X5 560 Ti. Hard to find any reliable details on this card. Only thought about this card in the past ten minutes. Mixed resolutions? 1050 vertical limit for triple screen? SLI?

I haven't follow monitor technology in a blue moon, but I will tell you this....

I recently acquired a set of new Lenovo L2440p 24" WUXGA displays at work and they are fan-freaking-tastic. They are bright, have a great viewing angle, and they are super sharp with good pixel density.

I would love to replace my 23" Acer at the house with one of these, I know that much. Very very impressed by these monitors, they are definitely the envy of the office.
