xspc rasa 750 RX360

I am getting a new cpu cooler to use and I really wanted it to be liquid cooling. It will be a CPU only loop but I am unsure of which kit to get. I would like to get it in a kit like EK and XSPC have to offer but I do NOT want those corsair things. I think I will be going with xspc rasa 750 RX360 with red tubing and clear distilled water but I heard more than one case of the pump dying within a couple months and I do not want that happening to me. Should I be worried about the pump failing or should I be fine?

Maybe there are some other options from swiftech or something that I could do instead? What is your guys' opinion on this matter.

I installed the rasa 750 RS360 several months ago for a cpu cooler on my OC'd 1100t and I've had no problems with it at all. I think the RX360 is a little over kill for just a cpu loop though

Infact the rs360 handles stress testing easily and I only use fans idling at 700 rpm

There are plenty of options out there but the xspc stuff performs well and is cost effective.

So basically out of the choices I came up with ,

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1..._Kit_w_RX360_Radiator_and_Free_Kill_Coil.html

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1...iator_Water_Cooling_Kit_w_Free_Kill_Coil.html

http://www.ekwaterblocks.com/shop/kits-cases/kits/ek-kit-h3o-supreme-lt-360-cu.html

I should just go with the rs360

Also quick question, that kill coil it comes with (comes with on frozencpu.com) does that mean i dont need any additives I just put that in the reservoir? and then get plain ol distilled water.

So basically how do you use that kill coil and does it mean you dont need any additives or anything to stop algie and corrosion?

Yea the RS is plenty.

Kill coils will prevent any life from growing in the water but it won't have any anti-corrosion benefits, so you'll have to add something to the water. Personnally I just buy the ready-made coolant with both additives in. In fact I bought the XS-PC coolant and it seems to work just fine.

I didn't really want to get anything with color and I was just going to go with distilled water.

Is it fine to use both a kill coil and this at the same time. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/7086/ex-liq-95/Feser_Base_Corrosion_Blocker_-_50ml_FB-0055.html

Also I cannot purchase items from the XSPC website because I am in the US :-/ from what I see they only have a UK store.

I wasn't really looking at prices (but thanks anyways they save a few dollars on all the parts). but I was curious as to how the silver coil/corrosion blocker/ distilled water all worked together. if i might face a problem or something.

check the link imbedded into the snow storm in my sig I dont use any clamps at all the XSPC kit uses 1/2 barbs and 7/16 tubing very snug fit with no need for clamps. In addition to ur question if ur gonna use distilled water you'll need anti corrosion and anti-bacterial as well. I used EC6 from the site I linked previously and it has everything in the bottle no need for anything else. and it comes in clear as I think you mentioned earlier you wanted.

nice rig I am assuming you put pump/res in the bottom because you couldn't fit it behind the rad and put it in a drive bay.

1 thing they dont sell at that site is 7/16 colored tubing. I was planning on getting blue tubing with black kink coils and that site doesnt sell it

however that site sells the clear coolant and frozencpu does not. maybe i will get everything from that site and get some tubing/kink cables from frozencpu.

Also I noticed you had 2 bottles of coolant I assume I would need 2 bottles as well.

Thanks ) the rez pump is in the bottom because I had to cut out the drive bays to fit the rad in the front. currently saving up to buy a new case and roof mount it. Yeah I bought 2 bottle to play it safe I only used about 1 and a third of it.

If you are using upto about 2m of tubing with the res and rad you'll need 1 ltr of coolant but it never hurts to get a second bottle/bigger bottle.

The plastic clamps the kit comes with are actually quite good. The kits xs-pc makes are actually fully functional by themselves and all you need is the coolant unless you want to bend the tubing round sharp corners when you'll need to get some fittings which don't come with the kit or add quick releases etc.

I just wanted to get some colorful tubing and anti kink coils just for the looks. I dont want dye in the coolant because I dont want it somehow getting stuck in the waterblock and stuff.

Yeah I am just going for the rs360 I am going to use the fans it came with (maybe later upgrade to some good blue ones) and then just get the tubing coils and coolant.

Is the thermal paste the kit comes with any good? or should I get some of my own.

I understand the caution over dyes. But Mayhems dyes dont break down and clog ur blocks plus a lil drop'll do ya his stuff is potent

Oh and to Sin... I checked prices and for me shipping almost triple the cost at sidewinder computers than at frozen cpu so it makes up for the 5$ difference on the rasa kit. I think I will just stick with frozencpu.

What about the thermal compound? Is the one in the package good or should I get myself a stick of Arctic Silver 5

it was on par with most of them. I'm using Ceramique this time I use the included the first time and I see no major differences. FrozenCPU is a good site never had any issues with them. Just was an observation for my shipping needs.

Alright thanks to you guys who helped. If you are curious the reason for this (obv to cool my cpu) but I have a pretty decent computer right now that I am selling half of it for 700$ and using it (plus some money i have saved up) to pretty much get a whole new computer.

Final specs when I am totally done is.

Asus p8z68-v http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131790

2X kingston hyperx 8gb kits (total of 16gb)-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104255

Temporary sapphire 5770 (waiting for april/may when the 7000 series comes out from amd)-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102873

Samsung sata III 120gb ssd (to replace my current sata II intel 80gb ssd)- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147134

and then all from frozen cpu

Rasa 750 rs360

EK clear coolant (cause its the only clear coolant on frozencpu)

primochill blue tubing

primochill black kink coils

some arctic silver 5 possibly

The parts I already have are 2 1tb seagate barracudas in raid 1, 1200w thermaltake toughpower psu, corsair obsidian 800d case, 2 DVD burners with lightscribe and crap.

The cpu is either i5 2500k or if my brother doesnt steal this deal from me (though he is the one getting the deal its just that i need it more than him...cause he isnt nearly as close to a pc enthusiast as i am) I can get a i7 2700k on november 30ths for 80$ (hopefully my bro wont take it cause it will save me money and get me a beast cpu)

because I admit it, I am an amd fanboy
tongue.gif
also I am not getting it immediately when it comes out I will probably get it a little after it has been out for a month or 2 so the price can go down 40$ or so.

also I chose 5770 not because I am an amd fanboy but because its either that or a 550ti or a 460 and 5770 is cheapest and performs almost as well.
