If you mean this , which is called a backplate you have to purchase it seperately. What do you mean by black thingy exactly ?

yes yes buddy i do have the backplate and the pads that came along with it but the problem is if you see the video he puts the pads on some black thing on 13th minute and 45second but if u see my card's picture i dont have that black things.. why :S ?

Ahhh, that because the titan has 6gigs of vram, so it has ram even on the back of the card. Since your gtx 780 only has 3 gigs of ram, you dont have ram on the back side like the titan has. Just install your backplate without the included thermal pads but make sure to use the washers and foam pad. ;)

hey buddy love u for the quick replies... i have already done the fittings with those pads where there were no vrams .. will it do any harm or i have to remove them since there is no vram?

Dont think they will be very useful there since they dont make contact with the backplate anyway (no ram chips). But on the otherside it wont hurt since they aren't conductive i think. If you want to be on the safe side (which i would like to be with a £500 GPU) just remove them.
