XFX R7750 Black Edition or Stick with XFX 9800GT

Hi All, I'm new to the forum but I wanted to ask some advice :confused: -

My current system (most inherited from my son) has an XFX 9800 GT 512MB running 2x 22" 1650x1080 screens with an XFX 9600 GT 512MB sometimes running video etc to a 42" LED TV (full HD). I was lucky enough to win an XFX R7750 Black Edition card. My question is will I be better off sticking with nVidia 2 card setup or switching to the AMD/ATI and saving power etc.

I don't play any graphics intensive games (EVE and some RPG stuff .. NWN2!), some video and photo editing and watching blu-rays etc. Any suggestions for pros and cons of either set-up would be great!

Id wait, save and get a better GPU.

You need to make sure there is a decent performance incrase.

IMHO a used 560 would serve you well.

He already won the 7750 though.

Guess you could always sell them and go for a better card like indeed, the GTX 560

he's already got the card;

Yeah 7750 will destroy 9800gtx and 9600.

can you tell us what psu you got though? assuming that you ran both of these at same time then a single 7750 will be fine but just to make sure.

p.s. you might want to add the psu to sig, its just as important component as any other.

p.p.s Welcome to forums :]

Thanks for the replies and the welcome :). PSU added to the sig as yes I realised I had forgotten it but didn't have time to change it earlier. Yes both nVidia cards are installed together and work fine.

So the 7750 is the better bet. I didn't want to go through swapping them round if it was the poorer option.
