**XFX 7970 DD Black Edition Malfunctioning!**

I've reinstalled windows, and it took a whole day because i was trying to figure out what the screen corruption lead to. Currently re-installed Windows using AMD 12.4 drivers. I get screen corruption and texture flickering on high res games ( most likely playing games that haven't been optimized by AMD drivers). SC2, BLOPS 2, and GTA still get corruption.

Trying to sell it off and switch to nVidia... were there any problems in nVidias drivers? Was an AMD lover, but switching to nVidia.

There were problems with the very early Kepler drivers that led to an RSOD apparently. But thankfully I had waited a bit and by the time I got my first 670 the drivers were coming along in leaps and bounds.

I'd actually forgotten how it felt to have a GPU without any issues tbh. I had been using a GTX 470 for nearly two years (a record for me !) and switched to a 6970 Lightning. Now admittedly it was faulty but I had no end of issues with that. I sent it back and bought a 7970 and again had nothing but issues.

It started out OK but then I began to notice problems. For example if I let it go to sleep I would get artefacts on the desktop when I awoke it. I also would lose the bottom half of my monitor where it would become a black hole. So to explain that the desktop would look normal (with my folders on it) but if I dragged anything to the bottom half it would disappear and I would have to reboot.

It was probably because I was using a 3D screen, but the irony was it was suggested by AMD as one of their 3D supported monitors :rolleyes:

In the end I gave in (after about six months) as no driver could fix the issue. Which is a shame because I wanted the card for Zerocore and was all about saving power. The only fix I could find was to disable sleep completely which was just wasted power. Shame.

Since switching to Nvidia I've had no issues at all. I did have an issue with EVGA precision X where my second card would go to 1350mhz and crash the PC but it was fine as soon as I uninstalled Precision. I don't overclock my GPUs now (no point with SLI enough power on tap) so it wasn't an issue.

Well just from looking around here and other forums I frequent I can see quite a few users with AMD issues. In the Crysis 3 thread people are seeing BSOD on the latest drivers and it's an AMD evolved game :lol: :lol:
 
LOL, yeah amds 13.1 driver has to be the WORST driver i have come to experience. Everything went well before this disaster of a driver. Even the beta drivers. SMH i don't want to live on this planet anymore :(
