X99 general Q

Hi,

Does anyone own a X99 setup that can answer the following.

Have you noticed any general snappiness other than in applications that is going to make the most use out of all those threads?

Like general usage of Windows.... loading of applications... do you feel any benefits in those areas.

Is this platform purely down to applications that is going to need more threads or does the combination of more threads and DDR4 just generally make all that more difference in comparison to like a 2600K for example

Hey,

I don't own a X99 setup yet, but I intend to purchase one in the next months, meanwhile I try to find the best solution for my needs.

The extra cores would benefit CPU renderings in 3d application such as 3ds max, maya, cinema 4d, keyshoot, etc.

Also from what I have found on the internet, DDR4 isn't a real improvement to good DDR3.

From what I have researched on the web this platform is purely down to applications that can use the extra cores, I'm sure in the near future a lot more applications would make use of the extra 2 or 4 cores.

I also have a hard time to decide between 5820k, 5930k and 5960x.
The last one seems highly overpriced, also I am curios how much the 28 vs 40 lanes would influence 3-4 way SLI.
