Worrying temperature :s

had a warning pop up from Asus AI suiteII, saying my motherboard was 118c.

Opened up the program and indeed that's what it said, it also said that my cpu was at -60 though.... lol

So I opened up HWmonitor, and it showed a temp on the motherboard at 118c aswell! except it had the cpu at 29, which I kinda guessed.

None the less, Im kinda worried about that 118c temp. Anyone have ideas to wether its a bug or something more?

Cheers!

ai suite sucks. dont bother with it. it have had countless problems with it. so i just ignore it. and for those bonkers readings it looks like its just a bug

Its a bug,ai suite is on some serious drugs,it has been doing the same thing to me since my old 939 socket days.Never rely on it tbh.

i find ai suite to be very buggy for temperature reading, especially if you use another temperature monitoring program at the same time.
In my experience if ai suite and another program is reading the temperatures at the same time it reads it wrong.... way wrong!

Like these guys have said I'd ignore it, I get the same crap with Gigabyte Easytune with false readings, Hell even OHM says my SSD is at 98C even though there's no thermal diode in it.

Ok, thanks peeps. bit of a relief tbh was only worried a bit as hwmonitor was giving the same 118 temp. will go ahead and uninstall aisuite me thinks.

Apparently some of my temps on my MoBo are about 180°C lol, just don't trust them, it's wrong

the best way check temps on a motherboard is hold one of your fingers on the heat sink if you can keep it on for 20 seconds your ok

well that's my method anyway

For the love of god, you may as well be using eggs and butter to measure the temperature:
1) AI Suite is very hit and miss - Meh
2) Socket sensors can be sooo innacurate...

Chances are it's fine.
