Help!!

Got me a 500GB NAS drives (Maxtor Shared Storage II) and a linksys W54G wireless router.

HAve to say i am excited about the NAS already - printer set up on wired PC's already and already relieved enough local storage to allow me a 4th drive for RAID on my bench set-up. Oh and the kids have access to more stuff which they are chuffed about (and thats how I sold it to the missus a 'must have' :)).

But......

Wireless connections can't find the drive?

I think I am missing a setting on the linksys to allow this to happen but am unsure how to go about doing it.

So please drop your advise in here or indeed drop your wireless settings in here so that I can see what I might be doing wrong.

Cheers

Sorted it.

Linksys onlien help as very good tonight - turns out that for some reson the channel I was transmitting on WiFi was being hit by noise - switched channel/frequency and all is well.

So if any of you guys/gals get this - try switching the WiFi channel/freq might save you some time/hassle.

Cheers

Mav

NAS household FTW :)

I had same issue with my lappy on a channel nobody in the neighbourhood was using - just kept falling over - eventually sorted with Linksys EasyLink Advisor (LELA) and by changing channels - didn't understand why, but who cares! I have three Freecom 500GB NAS drives - kids also appreciative!
