Windows 8 is not for us enthusiast

Microsoft said they will be supporting windows 7 till 2020 and after trying this windows 8 consumer preview, I am sticking with my 7, this thing is crap, its for tablets and home users not enthusiasts like us guys

is there life beyond XP? what is the course of action here?

ive got this 7 ultimate, but havent used it yet. **grumble**

guess ill have to build another to try out this 7 stuff.

That's what I said when Windows '95 came out and superseeded Windows For Workgroups 3.11 - now that was a real tinkers paradise.

just because windows 8 will be supported until 2020 doesn't mean it will run all the latest technologies till then, in fact this seems about the usual amount of time that windows OSs are usually supported.

Windows xp was supported until 2010, so this is going to have a few extra years on XP, but a lot of software and some games now now longer works on xp, it may well be an upgrade to windows 8 may be needed before 2020
