Yep, I got mine this morning from Dixons. I assume we're allowed to install and use it even though it's not been released yet?

You can probably install it, but it maybe won't activate till the 22nd.

Hmm, curiously - I wonder if they're shipping all their orders early to avoid the proposed strikes ?

I mean u order Windows 7 and get it early, whilst ur brother orders Aion (or whatever) and has to w8 ?

I would imagine it's Amazon endeavouring to send out all their orders early and perhaps not just Windows 7.

anyway, before i purchase the student offer of windows 7, i still dont know how it will work, sounds like an upgrade to me but ill have to wait till next week

I wrote to Amazon last week to ask what they were doing if RM went on strike (they had just remewed their contract with RM). They replied with the comment in the news article, I haven't checked my email yet so assume there will be a letter from them waiting for me.

I was prepared to cancel and go with another company if they were not going to do anything.

Update :Shipment has left seller facility and is in transit roll on thursday.

Activated and running beautifully right now

Had an issue where the install just stopped. Got a fair way through (to completing install reboot), then stopped, blank black screen.

If you have an Nvidia GPU using DVI and have this issue, connect it via a VGA cable, install Nvidia drivers and your set. Bit gh3y but it works.

Happy apart from that though

Not for me, my 7 installed perfectly.

Seen a few people with the same issue, most had to use a different GPU. I was just unlucky I guess
