Windows 10 Runs Faster than OS X

Dice, what are we doing? I think we might be having a civil discussion about Windows vs Mac

Yeah, for audio there is no competition. For graphics design performance is really the same, although I must admit like in PhotoShop I think I prefer OS X as the taskbar and menubar get merged, while already being smaller than in Windows, and just gives you that bit more real estate and a cleaner workspace.

Also, everything requires drivers in Windows cause the OS is built to work on any system. While Macs are locked down with the exception of Hackintoshes so hardware is either compatible or not.
I noticed that when I plugged in my new audio interface and MiDi keyboard. Both required drivers in Windows, but worked natively in OS X.

I use Windows 8.1 Pro as my daily driver though and it's definitely not worth rebooting and switching to OS X just for PhotoShop. I guess the main reason I prefer Windows is that I grew up with the OS and know exactly how it works. I know where to find all the settings without looking it up and if I want to change something - I change it without terminal commands.

I think if a person grew up using OS X, they'd prefer that and it would be the most efficient OS for them.

I know this is disgusting !!!

Errrr, Macs are overpriced and bought mainly by hipsters with zero fashion sense and very little experience with women.

Ok I feel better :D

Yes indeed I was but I woke up, Sorry but I'm not spending twice as much on hardware that is a lot weaker than something I could get at much cheaper price that's a lot more powerful.

The only thing holding me back from getting an Apple product *Apart from the fact I have fashion sense and have regular sex* is the fact that the hardware itself is usually shit.

I know people will say "Oh it's not about specs" NEWS FLASH, It is if you game or do heavy rendering work ^_^

Had to throw that in there lol?

Why would you want to game on a Mac, especialy if you have a gaming rig anyway?

It's the truth though Most people I know that own Apple stuff fit into that hipster neckbeard moaning guy category and lets face it no self respecting woman finds those attractive ^_^

I don't that's why I'm not getting a mac anymore as I can do video editing work just as easily on my gaming rig :)

Btw Dice, I snuck into your room whilst you were having a protein poo and saw your bed.

Windows 10 runs better than OSX on the macbooks *And probably hardware in general* so why would you get OSX if it runs worse on your machine ?

Source?

Because I'm pretty sure its just the lower end stuff. You're forgetting that OSX is based on UNIX, thus anything with a load of CPU cores will be better performing (due to how it works with multiple CPU cores). Just because its running like crap on a laptop built for word processing, doesn't mean its slower than windows in general.

This does mean one thing though, Windows have finally realized they need to make their OS work with low power products properly. About time!

I have a laptop with an i3, 4GB RAM and 128GB Sata SSD (so on paper slightly slower than a MBA) and runs Windows 8 perfectly fine. Even does a bit of PhotoShop but if you really want to video render on a laptop I'd say that's a stupid idea, even if it's MB Pro.

Yet people do it. It runs fine on W8 but on a MBA they are just slow.

Now you mention. Have you ever tried Windows Vista Home Basic? :p
No seriously though that thing runned on windows xp rigs -almost- like a charm
