Win8 looks crap?

Ubuntu is great, shame you can't game on it though

I hope once game developers realise that MS is screwing windows over, and more people switch to Ubuntu we'll see more games on Linux

Quite a few games work through Wine and Wine is getting better all the time so being able to play most games on Linux may not be too far away.

12.10 in that video will squish your fears, normal desktop is still there.

Well spotted, I've only just got the chance to watch the video.

Just noticed on this picture in the bottom right is the button saying desktop.

Personally I'm really looking forward to windows 8. I just wish the desktop looked more like this concept:

Oh you can play them, but in most games you take a performance hit, though others seem to work almost perfectly with them. I was trying this out a couple weeks ago, and its just a pain to go through everything.

Ubuntu is good for just about everything else though.

@anyone who has watched the vid, did you notice how he was talking about tablets and touch screens all the time?

So what if this os was designed for a touchscreen?.. It still works with kb and mouse doesn't it?... Anyway i'm sure in the not so distant future touchscreens will become a 'must have' like 3D is at the mo.

while I wouldnt be opposed to touch screen (well yes and no) but 3d I dont thik its the must have atm

to me 3d ya need to be back away from it to really enjoy it kinda defeats DESKTOP comps imho. Sitting 2ft away from the screen I wouldnt think 3d to be all that.

Depends what 3D it is, and on the size of the screen. For any 42" screen your ideally meant to be sat about 10ft away.

I was only using 3D as an example as it's the current trend and more and more manufactures are bringing out and improving 3D, I'm just saying that I think in the not to distant future it'll be the same with touchscreen monitors.

Touchscreen ain't worth it imo, unless we get those Virtual Reality headsets+glasses on, that would be fun. In fact that might be the way gaming goes in the future.

id buy a touchscreen if it didnt sacrifice picture quality and was as good as smartphone screens today oh! and it cant be super extra pricey....limited number of uses though... id use it for one thing

MSPAINT!!!!

Were the rumours of XB 360 support debunked?

I read an article (well actually about twenty, from numerous sources) that Win 8 is supposedly going to have support to run XB 360 games.

Now whether some one made this up and it became viral isn't known (though I'll do some more poking today) but it seems that M$ are indeed chasing more massive licensing fees. And, if it happens then PC gaming will die completely as it means that game dev won't even have to bother recoding or coding a PC version.

Edit. Infact no it hasn't been debunked. Unless this code is very fake and some one is on a pure wind up then it seems that they're at least playing with the idea.

Yes i heard that too, and that actually got me excited, i wanted it to post it here too but forgot. I think w8 is supposed do support xbox 360 and the next gen xbox games

I am not a console gamer, but for games like L.A. Noire and maybe halo and other xbox exclusives that would be awesome

EDIT: Lol read your edit
