Right i do have a OEM version of XP but i have to phone up Microsoft every time i do a fresh install, pain in the bottom :/

But in the other hand i have win 2000 that installs with no problem,im going to be doing some overclocking with phase soon and want to know is if i had to use win 2000 will it be ok or should i just stick with XP?

I'm suprised you have to phone microsoft everytime you reinstall. I only have to do it if I change a major component - once they give you the new number that works fine for future installs.

Well over the last few months ive changed motherboard 3 times hard drive 2 times.

Ive never had a new number they give you a long key code to reactivate it.

I run 2000 never had any worries dx9c works fine.

Not sure about sli though as i am not running that but has been the most stable os for me.

Sorry clone38 i am running that on an old amdxp system, and not on a new amd64.So i dont know if that makes a diffrence with regards to the os.

Brain has been a bit dissengaged didnt think to ask what system you were running and it sounds new so not sure.

Try it and see.

No worries m8 i think i`ll go back to xp as 2000 is making me feel old and i miss a few things that xp had to offer.

Thanks for the reply guys :)

It is possible to remove the activation reminder... As long as you know you have a legitimate license it shouldn't matter if you choose to.

Stocky PM me that aswell been tryin to do that on my MCE box aswell. It's all legit jst have the same issue with having to call Mico**** everytime I wanna re-install.
