4gb corsair vengeance (in 2nd slot due to overly sized cpu cooler)

coolermaster elite 430

hey guys, i just recently started to play APB reloaded but it's just about playable sometimes i get lagg from somewhere which i think could be the ram because i have programs opened in the background and it suggests 4gb of ram for recommended which is what i have. i have tried playing on the lowest settings and i still get this problem so i'm pretty sure it's not the cpu or gpu that causes this.

i was wondering if another 4gb stick of ram would help this at all for having programs open in the background as i have never had this problem with any other game.

Any help will be great!

Doubling up on the RAM will always improve performance adding the extra 4GB should be able to handle anything you throw at it and 8GB is the minimum most people on here would recommend

It's unlikely to make a massive difference, and if you do experience proper lag, it's more likely to be down to the graphics card rather than the RAM.
Maybe consider overclocking the card slightly? Or investing in an upgrade.

I still would probably advise getting another 4gb (probably a 8gb kit rather than just adding another 4gb so you'd benefit from dual channel) but just dont expect all your lag problems to go away

Yeah as said, even if it doesnt improve the performance of the game, there is no harm what so ever in getting another 4gb, Apb is a mmo right? Could the problem be server/connection issues and you said it happens on lowest details to

k thanks for the advice but even if it doesn't help with the lagg much will it help with doing other things while the game is open because atm when i'm playing it runs the ram at 100% but the cpu and gpu only at 50-80% so when i try and open another program with APB being open it laggs really bad even with the cpu only being at 40% but the ram at 100% used. =/

does dual channel make a big difference vs single channel?

yea APB is a MMO

Oh well if the ram is at 100% then getting an extra 4gb should give you quite a big increase in performance
