I have never used one, but one day in the futur I may.

hmmm, maybe having backups is legal, but i'm sure there is something along the line that is illigal. Such as the modchip.

Only illegal when you start passing backup disks around actually. Which is why these modchips continue to come out. I've modded a few Xbox1's for anythign from backup games to one guy wanted a 400gb harddrive which he filled with movies from blockbuster (a unlimited rental pass )

i modded my xbox 1 for xbmc, brilliant software. It just needs tv recoring features. Maybe they will come when iptv comes along.

That will most likely be for the 360 instead. When will they come out with a modchip to make the PS3 cheaper and not suck?

they will always find a way to mod something. sometimes they are handy other times not.

If it keeps those who want them happy then fair enough, some people see it as a way to get games cheaply, others out of necessity for other region playability.

Whatever happened to Datel ?

They used to be a company that brought out `cartridges` that did the same thing, in addition to adding 3rd party hardware, other systems controllers and monitoring tools.

Nice gadgety company.

Nice to see the modding community get behind the Wii so quickly. Datel I believe bought the GameShark name, and then they disappeared.

Just been annouced that there is another modchip coming out next week called the Cyclowiz.
