yea I'm having troubles. I bought a netgear ma111v1 on ebay after being told that it will work out of the box on ubuntu. Yea suffice it to say, it doesnt. At least not on the 64bit version. dmesg shows the card loading up with the included prism2 driver but alas, no network adapter is showing up. bob2, if you are an #ubuntu person you know him, told me to install the package linux-wlan-ng which I can't install because ubuntu, in their infinite wisdom, didn't port that package(along with about 10,000 others) to the 64bit version... so my question is who knows how to get it working... I just want to work it so i can use xlink for my psp... it's not that big of an issue since I dual boot.. but it pisses me off that it should work and it doesnt... I would like it to... also I want to figure it out so that I can perhaps wardrive a little on my lappy....
and on another note... if you know another distro that is better for 64bit lemme know... I'm up for a little bit of a challenge.. but I dont think I'm prepared for an OS like gentoo or slackware yet as I'm told you have to do alot of building and such... something that I'm not fond of doing for the basics.
