I said 460 as well hated to as its Zombies fav card

but yeah the 550Ti is a budget card and the 460 is just downpriced. The 460 is a good card you wont be unhappy with

well i have about £140 max to spend on a gpu so looking for the best gpu at or below that price prefer the gpu to be nere silent plus i will be connecting 2 moniters am not a big gamer but would like to start to play some first person shooter games at atleas medium settings

i would swing to the EVGA one for bang on the £140 squid mark, and OC'd out the box

get a backplate with it as well which is nice..

but Z0mb13 has got a bargain lined up. only thing to consider if you overclock it yourself, i dont know how high that fan will spin up.. and u did want silence..

ya dont rely no how to overclock gpu or motherboards so not going to do eny overclocking on eny of my hardware unleas it alredy comes overclocked

plus i will be geting all my hardware from aria.co.uk dont want to order from all difrent stores will cost more on deliverys if i did

what about this card i could get compaird to that 460

EVGA GeForce GTX 560 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (Aria GPU)

plus i get 3dmarck 11 free with it

The fan on the MSI is identical to the one on the EVGA. Backplates are useless on 460s as they simply don't get hot enough.

And the 460 is not faeces and never was, it will end in the hall of fame for singlehandedly turning Nvidia's fortunes around.

As for not knowing how to overclock a GPU? there's never been anything simpler. Firstly what you do is find out what the EVGA is clocked at, like this -

Core clock - 850mhz

Shader clock - 1700mhz

Then you look at the MSI -

Core Clock - 725MHz

Shader Clock - 1450MHz

Then you download MSI Afterburner (infact no, you install it from the disc MSI give you).

And you unlink the shader and slide the wee slider to the right until the clocks match.

Three areas. 1. the "link" thing. Unlink it so they slide independantly. 2. The core speed. 3. The shader speed.

Your memory doesn't really need touching. Bingo bongo same clocks, same speeds, £30 in your pocket.

The non Ti is a heavily down trodden 560, but the 460 is better and, £40 cheaper. Just because you have the money it doesn't mean you need to spend it all mate. Sadly the GTX 470 Amp ! cards Ebuyer had for £153 are now all gone, because they would have been a serious step up

if ur going up to 560 please seriously consider the Ti as its a stonking good card. Oc's like mad and is quiet to boot. Not sure where Zombie is getting his facts from but if I had a choice between the 560Ti and 460 I'd go 560Ti everytime

yes the 850watt psu will handle the sli as for how much better it will be better than a single card solution but imho if ya got the cash for the sli why not just up the current choice to say a 570hd or a 580 best choice is always get the best single card ya can and add another later if needed.

ok well rigt now i have £140 for the gpu but i was planing on a second moniter but i can leave that till later so that will give me £270 for the GPU

so can you recomend the best card at aroud that price

Because the SLI 1gb 460 would cost £220 and outpace a 580 which costs £350+

£220 presents a bang for the buck you won't find anywhere else tbh. GTX 460 is probably the most popular SLI ever to come from Nvidia.

Now of course you would get some headaches from it, but the same (or more as it goes) performance for nearly half the price can't be sniffed at.

Edit. Mate, get a pair of those MSI 460s. I can truly say they will blow you away. We are literally talking GTX 580 power for half the price.

Edit 2. You can also run surround vision (3d or non 3d) on SLI, meaning three monitors.
