)

Sure some of our bright buttons on here will have you sorted in a jiffy!

If you are using 32 bit Vista it won't see it unless you are using service pack 1.

If you are using 32 bit 7 it should see it but you can't use it.

If you are using Nvidia cards then it's likely they are stealing a chunk of it. The 4 series are not as bad but the 2 series steal up to 1gb.

If you are using onboard video that could be using it. ETC ETC.

Right click my computer in 7, go to properties. Look at installed ram.

Mine says - 4.00gb (3.25gb usable)

my rig consists of:

asus rampage 3 extreme

corsair dominator gt c8 6gb

msi gtx 460 hawk 2x sli

is it a onboard soundcard you are using ?

Its quite simple really dude, this error is common place and its nothing to do with the things mentioned above.

Its can be anything from a badly fitted CPU to memory mapping error in the bios.

There is another thread about this in the forum some where if you go and find it.

but I dont understant I just did mem test 86 and my ram isnt faulty it says the im in dual channel mode but it clearly shows all of ram. I dont understand tom you had the exact same mem kit as mine and with the exact same board did your board recognize all 6gb?

The board and mem are fine dude. it can be a badly seated cpu, heatsink too tight. Or it can be a memory mapping issue in bios.
