i have been having a few stability problems with my 955 and MA790FX-UD5 @3.8 2.2HT i wasnt sure if it was the chip or the board. so i put it in my older MA790X-UD4 and low and behold not only is the chip stable @3.8 it only needs 1.45v instead of 1.472v and it is only full loading @42c. does that mean the ud4 is a better board or have i just got a bad ud5

many thanks

This goes to show that the quality of a given component will vary from one part to another. The conclusion is that your individual 790X UD4 performs better than your 790FX UD5 and not much more really. It'd be a bit of a stretch to say that in general, the 790X UD4 is superior to it's bigger and supposedly better brother! :)

Congrats about the improved overclock though. Think it's time for a push to the big 4.0? ;)

4.0 is easy geting it stable thats the hard part i can boot into windows @4ghz from 1.47v but it wont pass any stability tests all the way up to 1.57v

i have no matter what i change i can not get it stable some one on another forum told me its because im running 64bit instead of 32 bit
