Who wants to see some LGA2011 boards?

They weren't stingy on the SATA ports were they. A little confused as to why they've got RAM slots on both sides of the motherboard now and I wonder what those other sockets are below the 24 pin on the Asus board, it's on the GB board next to the right hand RAM slots as well. On another note that Asus board is vomworthy.

The amount of sata ports for that entry level UD3 is bonkers. what on earth will the UD7 have?

Anyone know what the distance in mm is for the heatsink mounts? 775 = 72mm, 1155/6 = 75mm & 1366 = 80 mm.

The only time people use that many SATA ports is in servers! Crazy.

The positioning of the DIMMs seems stupid, it's going to be difficult to get some of the ram out without taking the CPU cooler off.

Totally agree. Unless you can use the 2 inner sockets for dual channel and then upgrade using the 2 outer ones?

That Asus board looks oldschool

I hope they cheaped out on that one to make the mid and higher range ones a lot better.

Now how on eath do we put our aftermarket coolers on ? the sockets look like they're riveted on, i aint drilling no motherboard

Ahhh that 2 slots on each side of the board is so ugly >.>, and i though lga2011 would support qaud channel ddr3? or is that qaud they just wont have 8 slots? xD

So there goes all tall heatsinked RAM lol, can see that being an utter pain unless you watercool, am I the only one kinda loving the yellow?

looking at the spec sheet on one of them says 4 channel so I'm thinking its single sticks per channel

Well thats fail... Thats the only thing keeping me from 1155 or am3+ was the fact for editing and shit i could have jumped all over the expandable 8 slots of memorys.. mmmm 8 x4gb thats hot when it comes to me xD. But fail >.> i guess 16gb is just as good -.-. And the retard who walked in to the board meeting pitching the idea for the mem slot layout needs to be shot.

think about it for a minute by moving it to both sides of the cpu it opens up more lanes thereby making it quad channel. Now I am sure thers away of making it all on one side but you'd have to layer the pcb more for the extra lanes (increasing costs). Now by moving it to both sides theres no layering of the pcb ( making it cheaper to manufacture) and we get quad channels Now I can agree it would make maxing memory for some harder with less slots but hey maybe there working on bigger ram?? 6GB 8GB sticks?? anywho it makes alot of sense to me for the arrangement and it still looks like there will be room for big coolers as well

Am i the only one who automatically looked at these with water cooling in mind and liked the RAM slot layout for pure aesthetics?

ok I'm still drooling over the other pics from earlier lol now I have more to drool over Lord why cant I just win the lotto so I can build one of each type and compare for myself
