Which way to mount! this fan

hey guys I am going to put on order my Noctua fans in a couple of days. now I just realized that i have to rotate the motherboard 90 degrees which has got me thinking which way do I mount the NH D14? I am replacing the top exhaust fan with a noctua flx to give optimum cooling I may add some more if needed. plus does anyone have any idea of when the rampage 3 formula is coming out? I don't really want to get the gene because of the space between everything and that I didn't spend $285 on a case that is so large that I put a micro atx board in it.

Rotate the mobo? Hmm not sure what you mean here dude, just aim the noctua towards the rear exhaust fans, with out any pictures I cant really say otherwise.

The Rampage Formula will not be getting a UK release which tbh isnt a bad thing.

Why not? How is that not a bad thing? I like the formula

so they might come out tom will the gene be fine if i just want a 4.2k ghz overclock and 2 asus gtx 460s in sli? im just worried about the d14 being so large. i figured out where to mount the d14 now mount it in the same direction as the exhaust fan which on top of the case. what i meant about rotating the board tom is the raven has its expansion slots at the top of the case so the motherboard has to be rotated 90 degrees. Have a look at this case Silverstone Raven RV01

Makes no difference to the motherboard layout dude and the D14 and the 460's will be fine. Id aim for a 200x20 overclock and maybe go to 200x21 depending on the voltage. End of the day 200x20 with 2000mhz ram in direct links will be awesome. Id personally go for low volt 4ghz over higher volt 4.2.

Ive had the FT02 myself and that fits the D14 fine. Just go carefull with your ram choice as tall ram will foul the cpu heatsink.

tom im just think ive got a xfx 850w power supply does the gene have the same connector as a atx board? ive made my mind up im going to go with the gene bacause i just want a fast stable gaming rig. in ur opinion is this a good board for my needs?

The Gene is a great little board and the XFX psu has std connectors matey so you wont get any problems.

Terrific all systems go then! i decided to get the C8's aswell so i should be putting out some decent clocks. ill post pics of the pc when im building it.
