Which PSU to buy?

Hi. I 'm looking for a new PSU so that I can avoid having to use molex to pci-e converters on a second GPU that I ordered.

I used a PSU calculator (adding a few extra things that I don't currently have installed but might add eventually) and it told me I needed 693W and recommended a 750W.

So which 750W PSU should I go for? I was looking at the RM series but if anyone knows of a better option at that price point (£95) then please let me know.

Cheers,
Chris.

I would buy the superflower 750w from OCUK for £90 :)

Thanks for the reply. Is SuperFlower a reputable PSU manufacturer? I've not heard of them before.

Also worth mentioning... I want to make up my own set of cables for whatever one I decide on getting without having to tearing apart the supplied cables. Do all PSU's use standard connectors on the PSU side or are they all different/proprietary?

Cheers,
Chris.

Thanks for the links Tolemac. It looks like an awesome bit of kit but those proprietary connectors are a deal breaker for me. I'm not really a fan of the lights either if I'm honest.

Are there any other PSU's worth looking at or should I just go for the RM?

Cheers,
Chris

Anything made by Superflower or EVGA (who's OEM is Superflower).

I personally have a EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 and it's an excellent PSU, and in ECO mode I've never once heard the fan spin up.

EVGA or SuperFlower, have the EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 and a SuperFlower 1000/1300 PSU (Can't really tell as l ordered a 1000 watt, the box said 1000 watt, however the PSU says 1300 watt :) )

10 yr warranty on the EVGA and 5 on the SuperFlower.

Haha awesome, not even sure what wattage it is, epic!

Thanks for the replies fellas. If SuperFlower uses proprietary connectors then I don't really want to go with them. The SuperNOVA G2 looks fairly decent. I still prefer the RM aesthetically but if the G2 is better then I'll go with what's better.

Really what I'm asking is which is the best one to go for that's fully modular, uses standard connectors and is around the £90-£100 mark, or can't I go with any of them?

Cheers,
Chris
