I am in the market for a new processor to replace my pentium 4 630 so my quesiton is which processor would be best for me? I have an ECS C19 A-SLI mobo and I'm only 13 so I can't afford anything that's very costly. I was thinking of a Pentium D 930 or a Pentium D 940, which do you think is better?

Please tell me based on /Performance/Overclocking/Value

Thanks,

SpiritD

Get a Pentium 805D , lap the IHS of that chip , get a decent aircooling hsf ( Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro comes to mind ) and for real cheap you have a nice dual core that can easily be overclocked to about 3.2Ghz which should be suffice for your needs as a 13 year old :D .

Yeah the 630's can get up as high as 4-4.2ghz on decent air or water and pull PI's of around 28sec.

A decent overclock on the 630 combined with the fact that it has HT would make me think that buying an 805 would be more of a down/sidegrade.

It's OC'ed right now to 3.3 ghz but once I get my Big Typhoon I'll try to OC it higher and see how it is. And I heard for some reason the Pentium D 805 can only run single core on SLI systems and the 9xx series is porbably better anyways with the 65nm and 2 x 2mb L2 cache. Thanks for your suggestions guys! Oh and by the way I'm never going to lap my processors until I'm a very rich lil boy lol
