Which Opteron 146?

OK, to go with the new machine we're building for my partner, I'm getting an Opteron 146. However, I don't know which stepping is the best.

These are the ones available on ebay:

CABYE

CAB2E

CABNE

Which one should I go for? I've got an ASUS A8n-SLI Deluxe motherboard (partner chose it, it's going to be his machine after all!) and am going to buy a decent graphics card, and probably some new ram as well.

Help!

Hey, are you bashing the ASUS board? I like mine (even if it has some of the worst voltage regulation ever, vcore set to 1.475 and its goin at more like 1.488 and 1.5)! ROFL, jk :D

Not really... just I would have bought a DFI LanParty. He wanted AI-NOS though, and it's his puter :p

when you say 'decent' graphics car, how decent you looking for? because the one iv just baught is amasing for the price, every 5/10 MHz i up the clock on it gives my like another 1000 marks in 3DM03. Plus it came with a big bundle of games and nifty little peices of software and drivers (all in a leather CD wallet with ASUS embossed on it lol)

I'm hoping to get a 7800, though might downgrade if finances don't stretch that far.

Wouldn't get anything lower than a 6600GT though.

Well llwyds is a 6800, and kicks ass. Not as much as a 7800, but its also £105 cheaper. (However its AGP)

Yea, i forgot to mention that. Unfortunately the PCI-E ones use a NV41 chip over the AGP NV40, meaning theres no unlockable pipelines or shaders

I've found a 7800GT for just over £200, and it's overclockable to near GTX standards. OK, it's on ebuyers, but I'm looking elsewhere for the same card.

But then take into account Customs, tax and so on...

plus higher charges for shipping.

Works out about the same in the end, and I want it sooner rather than later ;)
