A question; how is Display Port 'better'?
As I understand, it doesn't matter what type of medium the signal is travelling through because, as it's digital, it makes no difference.

I think display port just allows a higher resolution.

Aaaah, I forgot that HDMI is limited to 1080p. (Edit: but not HDMI 1.4...)

As soon as I was told about the whole digital signal thing, it made me cry a little over the hundreds of pounds that i've spent on cables for my surround sound

That seems a very good price, and I'm not sure if I can justify the extra £30 for the dell when it seems to be the same(ish) spec.
Anyone have any final ideas?

That looks good dude. Both the Dell and the iiyama are very similar like you have said so it is a good choice

You won't be disappointed mate it's a great monitor. Haven't had any problems with mine so far
