The best option would be to get the wifi version and then tether it, if your smartphone supports it.
I have used Android as well but its iOS for any day. I don't like the OS, I've more issues on it than iOS. Like KING_OF_SAND has mentioned, iOS has better apps and games work better. iOS is just integrated perfectly into the hardware, simple and easy to use, not to mention it looks amazing. This is my opinion on the iOS vs Android war
