And why would you do that?

How about I just run Crysis 2, Battlefield 3, and run Prime95 and complain about how hot and slow my computer is?

There's a difference between having a browser, a chat client and a social network app open and having that open.

Also why would you buy a device if you weren't going to put it under any load? There are, infact, programmes that put a system under 100% load that serve a purpose greater than finding curious numbers or stability testing.

It gets warm then, but not uncomfortable to touch or turn into a fireball lol.

Some reviews say it's like that, others say it's unbearably hot. I can't hold hot plates or mugs so I know I wouldn't buy one. There is an app that overclocks iPad 3s so you can use it as a coffee warmer.

I didn't say you can't put it under any load, but it is recommended that you close all other apps when playing a demanding game or other resource eating apps.

And I've also heard that some are very hot while others are cool. I guess it could be in different geographical locations. Also, there is a "bad WiFi" issue going around.

What app is that? iPad/iPhones are locked. You can't overclock them. Even jailbroken, they can't be overclocked unlike android phones/tablets.

The temp they were talking about in the reviews wasn't the surface temp of the iPad, it's the internal temp of the chip and it's well within spec.

TweakTown's review

I believe the overclock app was mentioned on Business Insider IIRC, but can't find it now.

I did wonder how they managed to overclock it for the same reason - but I do remember reading it somewhere.

Swarm of lemming businessfolk + sensationalised app = $$$

Dev'ing on iOS is where the money's at.

Impressing their colleagues is where their shallow yet somewhat real longterm employment prospects are at.

Buy an iPad and play Angryt**ds and you've got your boss and work mates won over.

What do they do differently from any large corporation? Not saying some of the crap they pull is justified, but most people are either huge Apple fanboys or huge Anti-Apple fanboys. There's very few of us in between.

There certainly are people out there like that. This is the reason most of the iphone/iPad cases have a cut out for the Apple logo. If people can't see that you have an Apple device, what's the point right? I guess it's like buying a Coach purse or Oakley sunglasses to some.

I like my iPad/iPhone not because it's Apple, but because of what I use it for. Before the iPhone came out I would have told you that I would never own anything Apple. Now I have 6 of their products in my house and support 20 iPads at work. Again, not because I like the shiny Apple logo (I throw the stickers away, they don't go on the back window of my vehicle) but because they are solid products that fit what I need them for.

being the owner of the asus transformer prime, with no 3g option. i would recommend the 3g version,. cos it is a pain in the arse telling my phone to create hotspot for the tablet

depends on what you plan to do with it (mem size) i would always get a 3g version myself as you can then take it anywhere

Yea why get a Ipad when a android tablet does more, is up to half the price and have better processors.

Apple stuff is over rated and over priced.

Hardware proves no point. The only reason Android needs that power is because the OS is garbage.

I have yet to see a android tablet "do more" than an ipad. The ONLY thing Android has going for it is OS customization (which to me is WAY over done). Other than that IOS has much more support behind, much more apps, WAY better games, and lets not forget IOS is the LARGEST gaming community on the planet with over 65 MILLION users registered in "Game Center".

All in all Android OS is crap I own a Transformer prime and have not used it in about 3 months, as for my ipad 3 I have been using like mad.

And as for this comment "Apple stuff is over rated and over priced" This is CLEARLY wrong and the numbers and market prove otherwise.

Same as in Australia. Marketing fail there for sure. I really can't believe Apple didn't put in different radios in those areas so 4G service would work.
